: Large rock chipped and cracked my 2000 528i front window last week (from driver's side edge to center & expanding).

: It's not yet fixed because I cannot seem to find anyone capable of supplying the correct parts AND experience at the same time.

: Any suggestions on replacement? I live in Phoenix.
: Also, what "parts" are really necessary besides the window? Is there a moulding(sp?), or more than one?

I would caution that the job be done "right". I have had windows replaced on other cars only to find rust around the windshield edge after a few years. This was most likely caused by improper preparation, like scraping out the old gasket material which damaged the painted surface. I am not familiar with BMW windshields so I would check with your dealer to see about the proper way to have it done. Some insurance won't cover full amount of factory OEM glass if you can believe that. Sme only cover the cheap places that use cheap glass. For my car, I want it done the right way and I would even pay extra to have it done right.
If you don't plan on keeping the car for a long time it's not as critical (except for the next owner of course). Just my opinion.

Rgds,
Norm
