: Funny JZ, I drove one of the first ERT 540 SC cars, picked the car up right from Hugh Plumb. Yeah, I guess driving a 540 SC auto 2 and 1/2 years ago , means less than your few phone calls. I saw the whole installation and know of the problems that can arrise. I was in touch with G Power, H & H and MK Motorsports 3 years ago when you knew nothing about BMWs or any of these companies. I've got no problem with Dinan quality, it's just that their prices are too high for what you're getting. I guess you also don't believe the guy who actually had the white dinan supercharged 540, who wrote into the editor last month and complained that the car was in the shop more than it was in his hands.
: The supercharged 540ia that I drove was not all that impressive. A centrifugal supercharger design is not that efficient. It doesn't make boost until high-revs, not the characteristics needed for a low torque V8. JZ, have you ever seen a supercharger kit completely dismantled? No didn't think so. If you had, you'd realize that there's not a ton of engineering to it. Most of the engineering is in the supercharger head unit, which Dinan, ERT, RMS, H&H, etc.. have nothing to do with. If you call cad-cam'd brackets superior engineering, the more power to you.
: On the dyno with Garrett software and a remus exhaust, hi-flow cats, the car was putting out over 420hp. (not at the wheels, at the wheels approximately 370hp)
: That's it for now. Please respond JZ with your fountain of knowledge. Remember I'm the one with a team at the Nurburgring on Sunday, not you!
with the modded exhaust 370 wheels hp. I might beleive that. Where on earth did you find these jems - hi flow cats ? What was the price and did you have any issues with the OBDII, i.e. with these "tree hugging" lambda probes past the cats ?
