: Re. he article you refer to is in front of me right now. The original owner who was obviously clueless sold the car. The new owner loves it and yes it is dependable. Why would you even bring up the E34 story and not tell the entire story.

: Why don't you tell the whole story, about how the original owner put the most miles on it and dealt with all the problems, and the second owner is now selling it. Please post the article, to give everybody both sides of the story. You're missing the point. The guy who paid for all the work was terribly displeased and the second guy has not owned the car for that long. The original owner wrote in to give both sides of the story, not the glowing one, which the magazine gave. I trust the original owner over a new owner of a few months or an american rag.

: Re. I refuse to stoopp to your level of insults, but I will tell you that my garage has been really nice and full for some time.

: That's great, that you have cars, doesn't mean you know everything there is to know.

: Re. JZ, have you ever seen a supercharger kit completely dismantled? um-----yes probably 10-15 kits in total, either in the box or installed.

: That's great, then please explain the vast differences in engineering on supercharger kits.

: Re. Actually Im working on a twin turbo mod that would use the Bently's parts, but your right it takes no R & D, and BTW Dinan hasn't relaesed the sc yet becasue it isn't perfect, and Steve won't sell it till it meets his criteria.

: I never said that it didn't take any R&D. A turbo conversion is much more intensive than a bolt-on supercharger kit. Where are you going to get the room for the exhaust manifolds and turbos off the bigger engine bay arnage? Ask your buddy Steve if there's room for turbos on a street car.

: Re. you said,"On the dyno with Garrett software and a remus exhaust, hi-flow cats, the car was putting out over 420hp. (not at the wheels, at the wheels approximately 370hp)"
: : I would have to say that a exhaut system with hi-flow cats and software would get you about 10-15 hp maybe and thats if you were driving a really resrticted stock system like the one that comes on the M3. The 540 has a superior exhaust system stock. I did repalce the muffler with a ACS system, i have all the stage 3 Dinan components, and I can't get 370hp to the rear whell like yo claim you got from just 3 mods.

: With the supercharger, that's what were talking about here aren't we? (4 mods)

: Re. Or maybe its the air in Nurburgring.

: Yeah, probably just exhaust fumes from the race gas in a 186mph Porsche.

: See Ya.

Since you still haven't said what you drive I'll assume it is a bimmer. I think that you and Step will make a wonderful couple. The two of you can sit around, analyze meaningless charts, numbers, and get really pissed that your last name isn't Dinan. I'll be driving, and with a sc shortly. So while you and Step put your little ideas together and waste the years away-I'll be having fun. Isn't that what all these mods are inteded for-fun?
Enjoy your racing, and stay with Porsche (your attitude is just like their interiors: Cheap, Cheap, Cheap. If you want to talk racing thats fine-Im pretty sure between Mclaren and BMW that Porsche hasn't done much lately.
Your only legitmate argument in refference to the turbo's is the room, but if you can get a V8 in a 3er or a V12 in a 5er then there is room-plenty of room.
