I put a 500+hp small block V8 that redlined at 8500 rpm , pumping over 1700 cfm of fuel/air with two Holleys on a tunnel ram, roller cam, 12.5:1 domed pistons, forged crank, floating wristpins, roller rockers, MSD ignition, 12" slicks - into a 2000 lb. car. It tracked in the low 10's in the 1/4 mile. 0-60 took only 3 seconds.
So I doubt seriously - LOL - if the cars you cited below could even touch it from 0-60.
Anyway, the car no longer exists. So this discussion is moot.
: : It has much to do with driver, less to do w/ car!

: : : : that's it, I'm going to have to post a picture of my '98 528i laying two fat black 235mm burnout marks on the pavement - no powerbraking. Done it too many times not to take a picture of it... :)
: : : I thought the only e39 with a LSD was the M5. If this is so, I'd love to hear how you'd lay two fat black lines.

: I can't believe anyone would want to own such a lousy car. Hell, even a Lexus GS400/430 (yes, there will be a GS430 either for 2001 or 2002) would outperform (not to mention outclass) a Chevy Vega. I won't even bring the 540i or M5 into this because they would pulverize the Chevy Vega in a heartbeat.
