5hp at the wheels??? No. :) That screen isn't nearly as restrictive as you think. Its purpose is to remove turbulence from the air as it passes the MAF sensor elements. This way the sensor gives a more accurate reading. I used to own a Z28 and removed the screen as an experiment. Didn't do anything. Leave it in.
