: : : I had a loaded Topaz Blue/Grey 00' 323Ci (piece of lemon trash). The car was beautiful, but I had way too many problems with it...certain "glitches" are common in both the 323 & 328 and a lot will probably carry over to the 01' 330's & 325's.
: : : Anyway, to answer your question I am still breaking my 528 in, but it is obviously more powerful than the 323Ci is. It will burn your 325i apart, unless you have serious mods (I know because I have a 325 also)! As well, gas mileage is 21/29...that's excellent for a bigger, luxury car.
: : : As far as handling, the 3-series was a little more tossible, however, the 5-series is no wimp whatsoever. The 528 gribs the road very well, yet it is noticebly heavier than the 3-series, which is why I say it is not as tossible as the 3-series.
: : : When I purchased my 5-series, it was going to be temporary because I love the E46's so much. After OWNING my 5-series, I am almost positive I will NEVER buy another 3-series!
: : : ....that should say enough!

: : : : SS,
: : : : I am going to purchase either a 330i/ci this Sep -Oct, but was also seriously looking at a 98-99 528i sp/5sp. Really like the look of the sp pkg and the extra room. Just afraid it would be a little under powered compared to my Sharked 325i.
: : : : What E46 did you have, and would you compare the two cars. How does the acceleration / handling compare?

What transmission do you have. Do you have a 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic or steptronic?
