: : : So until *you* have gone through such lengths to get something fixed, I think you'd better lay off since it doesn't affect you in the slightest.

: : : >>>: Case has been resolved. You got a new car and satisfaction. May be it is just about the time you relax a bit and find some other things to do besides trashing BMW ? Correct me if I am wrong but BMW had nothing to do with you case but producing a defective cylinder head. Happens even to the best of us. <<<
: : BMW makes a defective car. It happens. Dealer refuses to deal with the issue appropriately. What else do you expect ? There is an army of hungrly lawers out there that will more then willing to deal with it for you. You go and get one or two. They do their job - they get attention of BMW NA and it immediately resolves the issue. Normal civil situation, nothing dramatic about it.
: : Here comes the drama. Wipping and bitching on all boards with no reason whatsoever - it is not his business to deal with it now, it is lawers business. Is it that dramatic and nerve racking as he portaits it ? NO. It is just a part of live and bad luck.
: : Allegedly, some BMW NA emploee makes a post. I agree with every word of this post, BTW. Drama unfolds again - it is nearly the end of the world, BMW NA is involved in such a dispicable behaviour and so on. Do you guys have any common sence at all ? Why the hell BMW NA should be responsible for what their people say while off work ? Some guy dialed into BMW NA network from home and used internet connection for free. Is BMW NA responsible for it ?

: When one pays a premium price for a product, it is with the expectation that the quality and reliability will be of the highest caliber. The reason that Lexus and Acura developed their large market share is that they provided a level of customer service that was lacking at both BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Look at the J.D.Powers satisfacion surveys to support this. If BMW wants to improve its reputation, it will have to do much better with its customer relations, and every single employee at BMW is responsible for this.
: P.S.- Your attitude of "let the lawyers take care of it" is a great comment on where the USA is in the 21st century!
(1) I am not a "little slow", I am VERY slow (IQ of 87).
(2) Premium price ? What is this ? Market dtermines the price - when suply equals demand you get the true (market) price of good. What is the "real" price of BMW car ? Any deep and revealing thoughts ? Nobel price in economics may be ?
(3) BMW does not need to improve the reputation. What for ? People are lwaiting for months to get their cars. What are the business reasons for BMW to spend more money to improve their "reputation". When sells start falling and profit margins shrinking BMW will, most probably, take some action.
(4) We all have thank God for the existing and ENFORCED legal system. Unfortunately, mant people take it as a given and tend to forget that democracy is nothing else but equality of its members in the face of the LAW, which is ENFORCED. Yes, indeed it seems to be a roblem with a lot of Americans getting it.
