A few thoughts.

First, I apologize for not responding to this thread earlier. I was busy with a day trip to Sausalito. A gorgeous day on San Francisco Bay. Then, we caught a fabulous baseball game, Oakland A's vs. Diamondbacks. Dramatic come from behind victory for the A's. The sushi and jazz at Yoshi's.

Second, Bee, there's no way you're blowing off Pride of Dingolfing II or that convertible (unnamed?) because some yahoo at BMW posted an insulting message. Besides, the rest of us are anxious for the release of Beewang's Second Excellent Adventure. You have a special responsibility to go through with your next BMW Euro. Delivery!!!

Third, while I do not condone BMW's conduct, I've been involved with enough disputes to know that there are two sides to every story. We've only heard Len's side of the story. (As you put it, his "bitching." I won't disagree.) Yes, the engine had a defect. But we don't really know how reasonable (or unreasonable) Len was when the problem arose or as his dealer sought to correct it. He may have aggravated matters through his own conduct.

Fourth, everyone in this melodrama is a human being with feelings and emotions. Just because we've purchased BMWs does not give us license to abuse, insult, belittle, and demean individuals who happen to be employed by BMW NA. I'm not saying that Len has committed these sins, but based on the tone of his postings, I can't say that he hasn't.

Fifth, attributing every utterance of a BMW employee to the company is silly. There are many anonymous postings here, most of which can probably be traced to a corporate account. Does that mean that the company should be seen as adopting those views? What if the employee uses his/her office telephone to call a radio talk show, without mentioning his/her employer? Would you argue that BMW NA has adopted the political views promoted by the employee?? Whether its the telephone or an Internet connection, company communication resources are being exploited by an employee. The only difference is that the Internet communication is traceable while the phone call is not. This doesn't seem to be a rational basis upon which to make BMW vicariously liable for the comments.

With all this bitching and moaning, I'm beginning to long for JIMMY's xenon posts.

: Okay, I just got in and have been reading this long thread reagarding Len House.

: This is really important so PAY ATTENTION!!

: Here's what I think:
: 1) Yes I am sick an tired of Len bitching about his lemon. I am sick to the extend I want to tell him to SHUT-UP!!

: 2)However, in all fairness, if I were in his shoes, I WOULD DO THE EXACT SAME THING!!

: 3) I think its great that you guys are monitoring this board for potential problem, question, etc. However, FOR GOD's SAKE !!! PUT A F*CKING LEASH ON you G*D DAMN employees. What kind of freaking internet policy do you guys have?? Trace the guy/gal down and canned their a$$. What kind of freak show business are you guys running over there?? The guys (and gal) on the board knows me well, I do not write in this manner, However, right now I am f*cking PISSED for someone in BMWNA post annonynous on this board and call me (us) a "bunch of PUSSY ASS MEN" yeah!! you know what??!! F*ck YOU!!!

: 4) I cheered for you guys to step up to the plate to take care of the problem from Len and Cowpoke (Jeff). BUT, at this point I am w/ Len ( and I don't even know this guy!!).
: Heads will roll, or you can try and sell the $100,000 (2cars) of goods to someone else.

: 5) I am not the type of customer you want to lose. Go check your records, I have 2 cars on order as we speak, in addition to the one i took delivery of earlier this year. count!! THAT's 3 cars in one year!!! so DO I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION NOW!!!!????

: Expect a phone car from me on Monday morning. Get this issue resolved, and PUT A LEASH ON YOU EMPLOYEES. Or it will be VOLVO/Mercedes that I am buying 3 cars a year from, and I AM NOT KIDDING!!
