: For one thing I live in Germany, therefore I drive on the autobahn all the time at my 128MPH governed limit, and must faster than that in my 1989 German specs 535i. However, if you have two full size mountain bikes on your roof for an 8 hour trip, you will get about 5 MPG at 128MPH. Do your math. 17 gallons of gas in France costs $110 US big ones. Gets expensive.
