if you're on a 5-day biz trip (car at airport for instance), and the car is stolen on day 1, who will know it's gone and notify the cops to begin looking for it? well, probably no one. therefore by the time anyone (including you) know it's gone it's just way too late. lojack of no use unless someone knows the car has been stolen so the cops can begin looking. or at least this is my understanding of the system.
