Well Said, Steve. I just can't imagine the grief (archive)

Granted, the car drives fantastically, when the sum of all its parts function as it should, but when they don't (as in the case of these two gentlemen), the other part of the equation -customer service after the sale - is looking more like a misconception.

What happens to the car after BMW takes back from Len? DO they use it to perform crash safety testing or do they slap a Certified Pre-Owned sticker and put it back on the lot? Just curious...

: Guys, just imagine what *YOU* would do if a brand-new car(not just a brand new BIMMER) you just bought was a lemon? I don't know about you guys, but my money doesn't exactly grow on my trees, and these cars aint' cheap. If I plunked down $55k large ones(I paid cash for my 540) and the car was a lemon, I really do not know what I'd have done. Thankfully my 540 has been rock solid, but these things may happen to any of us, that's just a fact of life.

: Let's not bash out both parties here: John and Len may be doing all of us a big favor by paving a solid way to deal with lemons in the future. At the same time, lemons will exist forever b/c even w/ my basic auto industry knowledge I know that it takes 20,000 some parts to build a car, and these bimmers aren't exactly a chunk of steel on 4 rubbers; these are some sophisticated machines! Let's just hope that these issues will be solved, and meanwhile relax and like others said if you don't like the posts skip 'em.
