That's what happened to my certified 1997 540ia. The BMW dealer, seeing the Lemon Law coming, decided to return my money this past May (after 3 months of ownership). The car was back on their lot the following week, certified and all. I keep thinking what I would do if I ever saw the car locally and got the meet the new owner.
