I absolutely agree. I have about 1 month & 4,000km on my 97 540iA, bought "Certified" at a BMW dealership. Awesome car!!!! I notice a few of the small problems mentioned on this board (squeaky door seals, slightly sticky throttle) which I will ask about when I take it in for my first dealer service experience.

This is my first BMW after 22 years of Volvos. It is significantly smoother & more powerful than the 87 760Turbo I have been driving for the last 11 years. (what a surprise....) I used a private mechanic for Volvo service; and I may go to him onece I get the basics out of the way via the dealer service department....

I'll update on my BMW dealer service experience once I get to it...

: : There is too much negative talk lately about BMW.
: : I am one who is very satisfied with my car/dealership
: : and BMW. Yes, it has given me minor problems which were all corrected at the dealership, but I absolutely love it. I had an Acura with over 125,000 miles which never had any
: : problems, but there is NO COMPARISON. Acura/Lexus...
: : bulletproof/great cars, but no personality....

: : '97 540iA (Dinan)
: : seriously considering reliable supercharger
: : and planning to keep it for 10 more years

: Alex,

: I totaly agree with you. I have an '98 Acura CL
: that I'm selling not because anything is wrong with it but it's boring. My eye kept looking at Bimmers. Last month I bought a cherry '97 540IA with 50K from a BMW dealer, new tires, brakes...It is so sweet. It's the zen of BMW!

: Best,

: Norman
