Any conclusions on what those menus do? It'd be great to be able to change some of the computer settings rather than having to go to the dealer. Probably too good to be true.

Well, I decided to check out all the menus (I had only checked out 1 to 6 and 21, and in addition to the stuff at 1 and 2 covered in my original post, found something on menu 19.

It cycles between:
_ I_on_ _19.0
and:
_ I_oFF _19.0

Now the problem is, I don't know if I've changed this or not. To get out of this I pressed the button again, and was instantly exited from test mode. What I don't know is if pressing the button while it says ON or OFF actually selects that choice. It seems to be implied that the option is selectable, and if pressing the button while the particular ON or OFF is displayed doesn't select it, what does? And I wonder what it IS that is turned on or off, anyway?

Furthur playing around led me to this: in menu 19 that isn't an "I" in the display, it's an "L" - for LOCK. The on/oFF toggles the ability to access the other menus (3 to 21).

Here's how it works. As the menu 19 display is changing back and forth between on and oFF, press the button quickly while oFF is displayed. You will get a display that says:

teSt __0._

VERY QUICKLY press the button again and you will advance to test menu 1, and if without pausing there you repeatedly press the button again you will advance through the menus again, but now you can pause at menus higher than 2 and fall into those menus (by pausing there until the display chnages). Some have a couple or more sub menus. With two exceptions all are so far meaningless numbers (some in hex, and some show slight oscillations). The two exceptions are menu 13, which if you drop into it and press the button produces a gong sound, and menu 21 which says 'reSet'. I don't yet know what it resets, but if you press the button while it is displayed it drops you out of test mode.

If at any time you drop out of test mode while unlocked you become locked again and have to revisit menu 19 and unlock again.

If any 540 owners are reading this and see any similarities with what their system does, and can furthur explain what some of the numbers mean, please post what you know.

Thanks,
