I got a '97 540i:
Will I be able to reprogramming the key so that when I press the unlock bottom it will unlock ALL DOORS? (will I be able to do it myself? or dealer have to do it?)
How about "auto lock" (door lock itself when speed go above 5 MPH???) will be able to do it?

I also have a 97 540 (Oct 96 build) and the auto lock was activated.

The list for my car also shows that the sequential unlock feature can be set either way.

But these settings can, so far, only be done by the Dealer - car must be connected to the DIS to do it.

There are a bunch of other things that can be changed - but you need to get a printout for "your car" to see what is available since it depends on what specific versions of hardware and software you have.

Cheers

Jim Cash
