Sorry to here about your problems with the 540. I
once had a lemon myself. It was an 84 Ford Thunderbird turbo-coupe. It was the biggest piece
of junk I have ever bought. Funny thing is I traded it in on an 88 Ford Mustang and I loved the car everyday I owned it. Now I have a 93 Ford
Explorer with 90K that has never givin me a lick of trouble. And I have a 99 540iA and I love it
like the Mustang. Its funny how occasionally a
car company pumps out a total piece of crap but
I guess thats just a risk we all take whenever we
buy a new one regardless of the make. Good luck

As some have suggested, the link below (hopefully it works) is how our car has been "decked out" for the last week. At Fields BMW in Orlando my wife received INSTANT service on another chip for her seat adjustment and was asked to leave via the back driveway. At the mall, people leave postive notes on the car and several have stopped her to ask questions and get copies of the handouts. She is very excited about the attention she is receiving when she drives the car. The plate tells it all! Several pictures have been taken and several individuals have stated that while they like the cars, BMW is not a company to trust nor buy from. Some of these comments were received at the dealership from potiential customers who left their salesmen and came over to ask questions! We have privately heard from several others with major problems. Good luck to everyone and document EVERYTHING!!!!
