-Anyone know location of the "stock" GPS receiver?
-Anyone know location of "BMW accessory" GPS reciever?

Someone told me that some rental cars they drove had some sort of 'hockey puck' shaped object near the trunk area because the GPS receiver had to be able to 'see' the satellites. This person also has a GPS receiver that connects to laptop serial port. When he was under a heavily treed area, it slowed to a crawl and then stopped working. I was curious to know how BMW deals with the issue with both stock and accessory units.

Rgds,
Norm
