My thoughts:
Leatherette is not leather, but a VERY high quality vinyl. Although it's not leather, it is very tough to differentiate the difference. I've been fooled many times during my "rookie" days, until someone said to me " hey !! stupid!! look at the wringle...". As real leather tend to stretch(sp) abit. (Of course to counter that, you can always pour water on it to "shrink" it ;-) )

Anyways, what the heck was I talking about?? oh!! yeah, if you have the means, get the leather. But if you're cutting close to your budget, leatherette is fine.

Anyone got a 5 series with leatherette upholstery? How do you like it? Any regrets about not springing for the real leather?
