Anyone got a 5 series with leatherette upholstery? How do you like it? Any regrets about not springing for the real leather?

Had the earlier version on a used '83 528 that I bought in late '89. It was fine and continued so until the car was KIA in '94. Bought a used '86 that had leather. Leather was not in the best condition, previous owner had not kept it properly conditioned ( it is a frequent and necessary effort - not something to be neglected if the life and condition are to be maintained) and there were surface cracks and some areas (e.g. top of rear seat back) were pretty hard and stiff. Made good but not intensive efforts using Leatherique to restore/recondition with some success, but in some areas, the top coat color came off.

Ordered (at long last) a '00 528i with leatherette. Based on other experiences above, I believe that in the long run it will hold up better and be less maintenance and effort than leather. I have been VERY pleased so far.
