While in England, my limo driver (actually some small econobox) told me that drivers are ticketed for offenses such as eating a candy bar while driving, and drinking water while at a stoplight! Don't know if this is true or an exaggeration...

I do know that my colleague in his Saab let me put my Heathrow starbucks into the car's cupholder, but when asked, said he never drinks anything while driving. (Implicit in his answer was that this is another gauche american habit)

In Brazil, nobody drinks coffee while doing anything but drinking coffee!

I hate the new cupholders in the three series, they spoil the look of the console. My coffee cup fits just right in the present holder, and the only other liquid I drink (while driving) is water from a resealable bottle.
