I'm not Jim but having had both the CPT-6000VR and now the CPT-7000 I think I might be qualified to give your questions a go...

Vibra-call alert is a feature of the phone whereby it can be made to either vibrate silently and not ring upon receiving a call or both vibrate AND ring. I find it invaluable in noisy environments (such as bars or factories) where I stand a snowball's chance in hell of hearing the ringer.

The mayday emergency feature exists in the CPT-7000 as well, basically if you're in an accident or whatever (as I understand it) the phone automatically calls BMW if the airbags deploy.

The two are completely different features. One allows you to recieve a phonecall discretely and the other can save your bacon in the event of a wreck.

Jeff
