OK I know that this topic has been covered and I have searched the archives fairly diligently, however I find the same answer again and again... Balance the wheels. Well Ive done that. It's still there! I'm wondering if anyone has any other ideas other than wheel balancing. I have a 97 528i It has brand new continentals on it. I noticed the shimmy at around 53 - 60 mph at around 2000 to 2300 rpm. What else could it be PLEASE HELP!!!!! I have a 97 528i and I have steering wheel shimmy at 45mph on up, I did not have it before I took the car to Les shaub to mount new mich pilots and had the car aligned, they ballanced the wheels 3 times, still shimmys, then took the car to BMW, they found it was way out of alignment and 2 bent wheels, now I have no proof that Les shaub bent my wheels, but it never did it before I went to them, anyway its better but now I need 2 new wheels to stop the shimmy, hope this helps. good Luck Pat
