Going out of warranty (archive)

I have a 97 528i going out of warranty in about 30 days. Is there a checklist of repairs that I should have looked out before the warranty expires? I think I think most of the 97 bugs are taken care of but wanted to give it one last look before the warranty expires. The next question is whether to look at an extended warranty.

Has anyone experienced any problems for known bugs after the warranty expires (like sqeaky door seals replacement) and if they are still covered or you have to pay to get them fixed?
