Tony I just had the hands free kit for my Nokia 6160 installed in my 99 528i, and I'm very happy with it. I had it placed under the headlight switch on the left side of the car, which makes it easy to take the phone out when you get out, plus you can actually see who's calling without having to look at the arm rest. They placed the mic in the headliner on the blank black switch near the sunroof conntrol.

Of course, the installation including an antenna cost me $320, not $1,300, and I've kept a better phone (IMHO) that is in a better location.

Hope this helps.
