I happened to be at the dealership today and noticed that some of the '00 5 Series on the lot had plastic exterior door handles. Same design, just plastic. I have always liked the heft and solid feel of the 5 Series door handles. I think BMW was the last to use them. Kind of a shame.

It did NOT attract. However, on close inspection of the handle it really feels quite solid and has a 'metal' feel to it. My guess is aluminum.
