Imagine the momentary feeling of helplessness when the driver's side interior door handle snapped and I found myself holding a chromed piece of plastic. Open the window, reach back to the outside handle and open the door of my 528. Since it happened at the dealer when I went in for an oil change it was both amusing and embarassing.

But when you think of an emergency situation where you *must* get out of the car, its not too funny. With all the safety features on the car, BMW should correct this situation. I'd give up the weight savings for a little peace of mind.

At least the dealer didn't say 'they all do that'. ;->
