Background: I drove a 528i sport with manual tranny for about 1.5 hours. My girlfriend and I both had sore bumms afterwards. It seemed like the seat was a very plush layer over a hard layer. These were standard seats.

I have driven a few 3 series, and found that the sport seats are extremely comfy... so I'm wondering if the sport seats on the 5 are as comfortable.

Anyone have comments? For the record, I'm 5'8" and weigh about 225lbs. I remember someone stating that they were too confining.

Personally I don't find them confining. But I'm also lean, about 5'7", 120lbs. so they fit me perfectly. I think it has much better side bolsters to hold you in for quick cornering. Anyway size does matter, so see what fits you best.
