From what I've read so far(which is as much as I can), BMW has tuned the acustics(sp?) of this engine to a low purr at low rpm with a nice howl at higher rpm. The torque curve has been flattened so you dont have to be revving at 4-5000rpm to get real power. I almost bought a 2000 528i but when I found out(through this board bu the way) that a 530i was on it's way I waited. I am glad I did. Not only does the car look better but who can complain about another 30 hp.
I just hope there arent any forst production glitches!!!!
