All this discussion of sport seats makes me envious. I have a '97 528i with standard seats and I recently tried to buy a Recarro for the driver's side

You might be better off trying to trade for an OEM sports seat w/someone who doesn't like them. An aftermarket seat won't work w/the seat memory, you'll end up with different controls, etc.

I had ordered a 540iA with sports package and sports seats. I drove it for about 30 minutes and my butt and thigh area was sore. I liked how they held you in with the side bolsters but the seat bolsters were too much. Luckly I did not buy the car yet and ordered another car with comfort seats and have had no problem with them. I also ordered a few more options that I did not have on the original order. I'm about 5'10" and 190 lbs.

I'm 6'1" and 215, and wouldn't own the car without the sport seats.

The bottom is a tad snug side-to-side for me, but not enough to bother me. Incentive to spend more time on the bicycle.

I like the backrest support a lot.

But most importantly, the standard and comfort seats are just too short. The lower cushion does not provide enough leg support. The sport seat has the adjustable thigh bolster that I can run out 2" or so to provide the needed support.
