I have a 2000 540iA (with NAV) for 2 months. I had just filled the tank with gas. And started the car and I noticed that the time of day and date were reset (displays "--------" in place of digits). Also I noticed that other things reset like the fuel consumption averages and max speed set. I searched the archives and did no really find anything.

One peculiar thing is that it seems to indicate a higher outside temperature than what I believe it was. Reads about 10 degrees high.

Did anyone else experience resetting of the OBC parameters?

Thanks

Dave
I have never seen another report like that.

As far as i know the only way to do it is hit the "reset" function (test 21 in the cluster test function. But we know you did not do that so I suspect some power glitch occured that affected the cluster (the OBC functions are provided by the cluster - sub module.

Suggest you mentione it to the service manager and have it noted on your file for future reference.

Cheers
Jim Cash
