Funny you should ask, on my "Pride of Dingolfing" the first time I pulled into a parking spot on a strip-mall, I heard this "CRUNCH" sound, and never again would I park the car "Head-in". In this respect, the PDC was a wonderful option to have. Notice the tail-end of the 5er is MUCH higher (ground clearence) than the front-end. And the PDC will solid tone at EXACTLY 12 inches away.

I'll never buy a car without PDC again.

Would the PDC tell you how close you were in front to a cement wheel stopper that you see in some parking lots?

I can see that with the sports package and the resulting lowering of the car, that if the cement stopper were too high, it could hit the bumper. Ouch.

Can you shut it off?
