When and if that should ever occur, I will just take the family Voyager for a spin - guaranteed to cure! The Voyager isn't bad for what it is, it is just what it is that it is (Is that sufficiently Clintonesque?)

Re comments below about Cameros et. al. Anyone can throw enough money to buy or build a specialized vehicle that will in some way exceed some performance aspect of an E39. The trick is can you find as good a BALANCED VEHICLE in terms of speed, acceleration, handling, braking, comfort of ride, luxury, gadgets, quality of materials and build, long term durability* . . . . ???

*(based on longevity of other BMW products such as the used '83 E28 I first bought and the subsequent '86 E28 that I also bought used and that #2 son is now driving with 150+K miles on it - even the wife (to whom a car is no more than a way to get from point A to point B)thinks that "these cars last 20 years")) How's that Camero going to hold up in 14 years - not only drive train, but also interior etc. ?

In my experience/opinion, the E39 hits a balance that is really hard to beat.
