Driving all day and drinking all night made for a most excellent father/son adventure. Since the car was free, the entire one week trip for two was less than $3K (air, hotel, food, gas, tolls, gifts, and ... beer!)

My dad still talks about it to anyone who will listen. There are very few boring stories that begin with, "So my son and I were blasting down the autobahn in excess of 150MPH when ...."

To make amends to my wife and kids for leaving them behind, I've bregrudgingly agreed to take them on the Disney Cruise in a couple of months. I figured I could squeeze the "gotta do a cruise" and "gotta do Disneyland/world" into one week of hell.
