There were some significant engine changes for the '99 model year. HP remained the same but torque went up at all engine speeds, but particularly at the low end.


I am cosidering buying a 540 six speed and i was wondering what the changes are between around a 98 to now? anything big that i definetly should get a new one? also could anyone tell me the little changes? thanks guys please respond it is very important.

also do you guys know of any dealer where i can arrange to get a special color on my car? i want a 540 but they dont come in yellow and that is the color i like. so if anyone could please tell me cause i dont want an aftermarket paint job i want a BMW job. so im just wondering if it is possible for the dealer to set up something with BMW so that i can order it in yellow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
