Has anyone looked into removing the cassette unit above the MID and replacing it with a real equalizer? Is the cassette unit separate from the MID and will the radio still work if you remove it?

Thanks

The cassette unit you see above the MID is actually the radio itself. The MID is just a display. If you want to remove/replace the radio you need a 2mm alan wrench to remove the MID. pull off the knob then turn the screw 1/4 of a turn counter clockwise, at the same time pull out. This will release the MID. Then take a 2.5mm allen and turn back the radio screws about 20 turns, or until you hear it become very loose. Then pull it out and disconnect connectors.
