The part you want to ask for from your dealer is the front bumper "impact strip." You may also need a chrome piece that goes with it if you've got chrome trim. Total cost is about $18 without trim, a little more with trim.

This provides a clean look to your front bumper without that blank box where your license plate would normally go. Of course this is illegal in California, but I've done it for 13 years without getting a ticket.

The impact strip snaps into place without any trouble.
