Well Norm, I got the snows primarily for insurance. Right now they're sitting stacked in my hallway - I probably won't be putting them on for a month, maybe even two - and then, with any luck I might never drive them in snow :).

It's like this - I retired last year and now I pretty much get to choose when I go out in the car, unless I have a rare appointment. Since I decided that I will handwash the car only, and that's work, I find I don't go out much in inclement weather. For example, I have had the car just about 5 months now and it's only been rained on once - I got caught by a surprise shower. If the ladyfriend wants to go to dinner and it's wet out, we use her car - she drives it daily so it's not a problem for her.

In all seriousness I expect I will be driving in snow sometime, just not any too soon or too often.

I'm going with Pirelli Winter 210 Assym's on stock wheels (front size - 235/45x17 - for 540i/6). I'm interested in how the new Pirelli's perform.

Rgds,
Norm
