Just so you understand, there is typically a *huge* markup associated with these warranties. I used to work at an online used car dealership and the "real" cost of these warranties is typically right around $500. That's for a 6yr/100k warranty with a nominal $50 deductible. The dealer marks these up something fierce.

You might consider going with a third-party warranty. There's a bunch of .com companies out there doing this. Here's a list from Yahoo:

I've no experience with any of these companies, so YMMV.

Has anyone had any experience with Warranty Gold? I'm thinking about purchasing a "Diamond" policy from them for my 1998 528i. I've been quoted a 7 yr/100K mile policy from them for $1,995 (with 0 deductible). Would appreciate any other extended warranty experiences that others have had.
