i have a 528 sport with just h&r's. i was going to get a set of bilsteins but bilstein is backordered for months so i'm going to wait and see what other options i can find before then.

if you just put springs and no shocks on you will end up with a car that looks nice but with little to no performance increase. like mine. it rides pretty much the same as stock but doesn't drive any better. the stock setup may even feel a little more well balanced than the h&r setup. after all i'm pretty sure that the hundreds of bmw suspension engineers have much more expertise in balancing ride, handling and comfort than the 10 or so engineers and mechanics (if that) that work for h&r. most of the improved handling in an upgraded suspension comes from the upgraded shock rather than the spring.

it is also possible that you will experience a reduced life in your stock shock since you are forcing the shock the operate in a range outside of its optimal design range. but as long as you don't slam your car, it shouldn't be too bad.
