You cannot 'post' a picture on the board. You have to first put the picture somewhere on the web where you can point to it with a URL - either on your own web page or at one of the photo' storing/displaying free services - I suggest PhotoPoint. www.photopoint.com
Once you have it on the web you have it display on your browser and cut the URL for later pasting into your message here. There are two ways to do this. When posting a message here (or replying to a message), at the bottom you will see a box labelled "Optional Image URL". Just paste the URL of your picture (complete with http://) in there and it will appear in your message preceding any text you enter in the message.
If you want the picture to appear elsewhere in your message other than at the beginning, or want to post multiple pictures, it's a little more complicated. You have to insert the URL of your picture in the message text where you want it to appear, but surrounded by the proper HTML commands. I cannot include the exact commands here because they will not show - the best way to see them is to find a message with an imbeded picture and select 'Post Followup'. If you then look at the text entry box in the message you will see what was done to show the picture.
Here's an attempt to explain how to post pics within the body of your message (or post multiple pics). Wherever in the body of your message you want the picture(s) to appear, put the following HTML statement(s):
#IMG SRC="http://picture1"@
more text here if you want
#IMG SRC="http://picture2"@
even more text if you want
#IMG SRC="http://picture3"@
BUT - replace the # at the first of each expression with a 'left pointy arrow' (on my keyboard it's uppercase on the comma key)
AND replace the @ at the end of each expression with a 'right pointy arrow' (on my keyboard it's uppercase on the period key).
Of course, 'picture1/2/3' is replaced with the URL of the picture(s) you want to show.
If you put your picture on PhotoPoint, to get the URL select the picture there, and click on it again to get the raw image displayed on the screen without the surrounding PhotoPoint crap - the URL you want will be in your browser's location box at the top of your screen. If you are using Photopoint, your uploaded pics first go to an 'album' called 'incoming'. It is a good idea to create another album (I use one called 'PostPics') and move the pictures to it - because if you move the pictures AFTER you post them here the URL will change and people won't be able to link to your pics when they view your message.
One other thing, if you are creating your pics with a high resolution camera it's a good idea to cut them back in size a bit before uploading them - say to 640x480 or maybe 800x600. I use a freeware utility called IrfanView to do this - it's a quick and easy file viewer that allows you to resize and adjust your pics easily.
