Pirelli vs Pilot alpin for winter? (archive)

BMW Canada suggest Pirelli 210 snow tires on 16" rims for the canadian winters....I have Pilot from Michelin and absolutely love them...I m looking to put 16" Pilot Alpin on for winter...Anybody know about the performance on dry/snow/ice for those two tires?...any personnal experiences?
