Gary's point, I think, is that we live in a great country that facilitates our prosperity. But we shouldn't become so self-centered and self-satisfied that we think we are somehow better than other Americans who drive "lesser" cars.

Lately I'm finding an annoying undercurrent of priveleged-class crap that seems to permeate the discussions. Although I likely resemble in many ways those perpetrating the crap, understand that just because I, and others, own a nice car, doesn't mean we share the same socio-economic and political proclivities. And just because we don't object to your ranting about politics, taxes, or societies welfare mothers doesn't mean we share your opinions. You are simply being ignored because you are off-topic.
We are all damn lucky to have what we have, and to be allowed to keep what we possess, despite the serious, and often ignored inequities within our society. Enjoy it, polish it, fix it, but please don't spread the annoying prattle. Let's talk about BMW's, E39's to be exact.
So who has named their car? As soon as I bought my 540i, everyone I met asked me it's name. I'm feeling it's male, rather than female, but I haven't yet named the silver beast.
