After much debate, I finally removed the CDV and let me tell you, next to the UUC short shifter, it is the best modification I could have ever done. I have no idea what BMW was thinking, but what ever it was, they were wrong to add this part. It is like driving a whole new car.
O.K. Now for the bad part. I was on my way to Fry's today and my orange gas light came on. This was the first time this has happen since I have owned it. I drove for about another 10 miles to my destination figuring I would fill it up when I left. Well, when I started it back up, my "check engine" light came on and motor was running very rough. Especially at 1000 and 2500 RPM. I immediately stopped at the gas station and filled up the tank. The "check engine" light is still on even after the 50 mile trip home and it still runs rough. I also noticed for the last week or so the idol would fluctuate between 500 and 700 RPM for no reason.
I'm planning on taking it to the dealership tomorrow but, any input would be greatly appreciated.
