...as far as I know there is no BMW 5'er steel wheel larger than 15". I believe it came on one of the touring models. It works on the 528, but won't on the 540 because the 540 has bigger brakes. Unless the 530 has even bigger brakes than the 540 it would seem to me any wheel that fits a 540 would work - which would mean 16" and larger alloys.

I went to my dealership in search of info regarding snow tires. I planned on getting a cheap set of steel 16 inch rims with Pirelli snows. The parts guy said that due to the increase in size of the rotors on the 530i the car cannot support 16 inch rims. The smallest size that will fit are 17 inch. I thought I'd share the info with you all before you ask the same questions.
Aside from that the dealership has no steel 17 inch rims in stock. He said I'd have to buy composite rims at a cost of over $1500+the cost of tire. Ha! I said. I will buy 18 inch rims and some Michelin Pilot sports and use my current 17 rims as my snow tire rims. Now I am broke.
