Your post mentioned that the top mounted tweeters were disconnected, along with the pair in the rear doors. Did your installer mount the new tweeters in the midrange location in the front doors? If so, you probably notice a lack of clarity now. Your tweeters are like flashlights. The sound pretty much travels in the direction that they are facing. Have your installer move them to the top location, so that they fire directly towards you. And you didn't mention anything about the Boston crossovers. Were they installed as well? If properly installed, your system should sound great. Sounds like your installer is cutting corners or doesn't know what he's doing.
