1200 mile service on 530i???? (archive)

My new 530i just crossed 1100 mile mark. Do I need to get any service done on it after the break in period? Any suggestions will be welcome. I know the manual suggests to not worry about it till all green lights go out.
Also, I read in Roundel magazine that an M5 consume a lot of oil. Do I need to check oil in 530 every 1000 mile? I understand that it may not be needed since 530i's engine is so different from M5's.
