Not too bad, excepting a long wait for an appointment - but it wasn't a critical item to basic functionality of the vehicle ( Airbag and seat belt warning lights not going out as normally should).
Brought the car in as scheduled on Monday. Status that afternoon was "failed SRS Control Module, part on order, due in tomorrow". Since I had been provided with a loaner (Ford Escort) at no cost to me, aside from the learning experience of appreciating MUCH better what we usually drive, not an issue to me. Picked up the car Tuesday evening - - and discovered the CD changer was inop. Did a U turn, left the car overnight again, and was again provided a courtsey loaner. Picked up the car Wed. at noon. Problem was a jammed CD Changer. They replaced the unit at no charge with a re-manufactured unit and were able to retrive my cartridge with the CDs and transfer them to the replacement unit. It is unknown if this was coincidental or what. Probably - as they did nothing to the car that directly impacted the changer unit.
Considering that I purchased the changer independently of the car from Pacific BMW and installed it myself and that the unit was just over a year old - that they addressed the problem with an attitude of "customer satisfaction" rather than haggle and give me grief over it - I give them a good rating.
Thursday AM took off for LA from SF Bay area and just drove back today. Round trip was around 750 miles, and measured fuel economy was 30 mpg (miles traveled/gallons actually consumed). Not bad for average speed of 75 with occassional upward bursts to pass. The ride was smooth, quiet, extrodinarily under control/solid at all times, and accelleration to pass was totally undramatic - just feed in a little forward throttle and speed picks up no fuss no muss!
I know some folk have had a problem with the seats, but mine are the standard version and when adjusted to my personal preferences, worked out just fine on the 6 hr. drive each way.
