It was December 24th 1917. At midnight all the cannons fell silent, all the gunfire ceased. While the English sat quiet in their trenches, the sound of "O' Tannenbaum" began to permeate the night air. The German soldiers, unarmed, began walking towards the English battle lines. Amidst all the horror of war, all was forgotten. The German soldiers brought wine, whiskey, and cheese to share with their foes. For a brief moment in time, bitter enemies celebrated Christmas together. This Christmas let us all reach out across our own battle lines to celebrate the wondrous holidays.
