One thought -- if you're pulling the lever slightly toward you, you might be activating the automatic washer function which would trigger the wipers to make several passes. If you just barely pull them, they don't really spray much (if any) washer fluid.
I don't know about your second question.
2 questions:
1. I tried using the rain sensitive wiper positon (position 1), and setting the rotary knob to its lowest setting. I did this while the car was completely clean and dry. But, it sweeps the wipers multiple times as if it has detected rain. Now, the only thing that I can imagine being a problem, is that i have one of those EZ pass automatic toll things affixed to the inside of my windshield right next to the rearview mirror mount. Could this be interfereing with the sensor? Or is there something else wrong?
2. Is there any way to program the car to shut off all exterior lights (including the parking lights) when the ignition is switched off with the headlights in the on position? My previous cars all had this feature.
