i put in a single bandpass box and a POLK AUDIO sub and mtx amp with speaker level inputs hooked up to factory wiring, no cutting holes etc, and bass is loud inside car. major improvement. get a good amd and sub and sound will travel inside the car no problem.

car has standard seats, well sealed trunk i agree.

I have a '99 540ia with the standard sound system. I agree with the comments on the board - it's not too good (that is being kind). The first improvement I would like to make is to add some bass. The standard system is lacking in the 'woofer' department. I have talked to a couple of shops, and they claim that the 5 series trunks are so tight, a sub will have a hard time getting sound into the cabin. I do not have fold down seats, nor ski sack. I would rather not cut into anything. Any suggestions? Also, a reputable installation company in the S Jersey area would be appreciated.
